AFFILIATE


An AFFILIATE is a Catholic Apostolate/Ministry whose primary purpose is in alignment with the Mission of the National Fellowship of Catholic Men (NFCM). AFFILIATES would, therefore, focus on conversion, formation and/or mobilization of Catholic men.  AFFILIATES must be orthodox Catholic in their views, materials and methods.

Bible Study

A community marked by a recurring meeting of Catholic men to study the Scriptures.  This may be a generic study or a program study such as "the upcoming Sunday readings".

Highly recommend using the naming structure as follows when creating a Bible Study Group:

CHAPTER

A CHAPTER is typically referred to as a Catholic Men's Fellowship (CMF) which is a recognized to be associated with the NFCM.

Community

A COMMUNITY is any gathering of men within the NFCM Network where common information/discussions are shared or announced.

A COMMUNITY might be very large (i.e.a state wide CMF) or very small (parish based prayer group), or anything in between.

GROUP


A GROUP is any sub-set of men meeting for purposes of calling each other to live an active, Catholic life.   Examples of a GROUP is a prayer group, recurring Serra club meeting, TMIY weekly group, etc.  Some specific types of groups have their own grouping for ease of finding the group.  These include BIBLE STUDIES, SUPPORT GROUPS, etc.

A household is a group of men living together in community.  These are primarily, but not necessarily, found on college campuses.

MEMBER


A MEMBER is an individual Catholic man who has signed up for membership in the NFCM Network. Such a member may participate in the myriad of opportunities on the Network.  Primarily, a MEMBER may participate in a GROUP or CHAPTER activities, interact fully with other members in the Network, and, with permission, establish a new GROUP.

Member Created Group

 
This is a generic group which can be created by any MEMBER in the NFCM Network. Examples of this type of group might include groups interested in a particular sport, hobby or activity.

Social Action Group

This type of community is primarily involved in social justice action as a group.  Examples of these types of communities include:
1. Abortion Clinic Protest Groups
2. Adult Club Protest Groups

Support Group

A support group community is a meeting of Catholic men for the expressed purpose of assisting each other in being accountable concerning a specific addiction, struggle or life situation.  Examples include Sexual Integrity (anti-porn) Programs, 12 Step Recovery Programs, Grief Transition Groups, Unemployed Group, Post Divorce Fathers Group, Post Abortive Fathers Group, etc.
